Description
MuMETAL® Foil is fully annealed and used primarily in low intensity fields where the highest attenuation, highest initial permeability µ (Mu) and highest shielding efficiency are desired. MuMETAL® Foil is available in stock gauges from 0.002 in / 0,051 mm, to 0.012 in / 0,305 mm thickness.
Our most popular gauges are .002 in / 0,051 mm, .008 in / 0,203 mm, and .012 in / 0,305 mm thicknesses.
All gauges are available with optional adhesive backing on 1-side (pressure sensitive tape with release coated liner). Operating temperature range of adhesive is 32ºF to 140ºF (0ºC to 60ºC).
DISCLAIMER (.002 in/ 0,051 mm thick x 8.0 in /203,2 mm Wdith): Surface creases and/or wrinkles are unavoidable due to the softness and thinness of the material. This material is not flat and has camber across the width due to the high temperature annealing treatment required for high permeability. Please consult with our technical team if you have any questions or concerns.
Foils can typically be slit to a minimum width of 1/4" (6,35mm), with or without adhesive backing. Foil width tolerance is ±0.010 in / 0,25 mm, or ±0.015 in / 0,38 mm with adhesive backing.
MuMETAL® Foil is Perfection Annealed for maximum attenuation and acceptable surface appearance. It does not require re-annealing unless severe forming or heliarc welding is performed.
Conforms to ASTM A753 Alloy 4, and MIL-N-14411C Comp 1.
Slitting, Shearing or Cutting Services: Stock foil may be slit, sheared or cut per your request.
