Gary Albertson started with Magnetic Shield in March of 1973, which makes him our oldest employee ... and means we congratulate him on his thirtieth anniversary with the organization.

To what does he contribute his longevity? "Magnetic Shield is a relatively small company and a very good one: people have a tendency to stay. In my early years there was more turnover. That doesn't happen any longer. We have another employee who's been here twenty years and other long-time employees."

Gary began as a delivery man traveling throughout the city of Chicago and the suburbs. In 1978, his responsibilities increased substantially when he moved into production. But he found his true niche a year later, when he switched to shipping, where he has been comfortably and successfully ensconced since then.

Reporting to Larry Bove, our Production and Purchasing Manager, Gary makes certain all of Magnetic Shield's shipments go out on time, often critical to our business. "We use a variety of shipping methods based on need or the requirements of our customers," Gary relates. "Our aim is to get our products out of our hands and into the customer's hands ASAP" Of course, before those products are shipped, it is also Gary's responsibility to make certain they are packaged properly so that they will arrive in perfect condition. Gary is our resident expert in product packaging and shipping.

Gary and his wife live in Woodale and are the parents of four girls, the oldest of which recently made him a grandfather.
