Magnetic Personalities

Ed Kobek
Chief Engineer

Our Chief Engineer Ed Kobek has unique responsibility within our organization. He wears different hats for Magnetic Shield, and one of his principal functions is to head up our Quality Assurance Department. In this capacity he routinely inspects our products within the Magnetic Test Laboratory before they are released for shipment to our customers, checking for both mechanical and shielding effectiveness. While ascertaining the quality of our products is of particularly vital concern within the organization, Ed rightly encounters very few QA glitches. Interestingly enough, should Ed find he must discuss a QA situation with the Magnetic Shield person typically involved in technical design and application, he would have to seek out … Ed Kobek.

With an Electrical Engineering degree from Northwestern and in-depth expertise in magnetic theory and application, Ed often works with sales in the design end of our business, as well as assists and consults with our President James Fox in particularly sophisticated or complex customer support. He is also called on to provide his technical experience in answering shielding questions that pop up from our web site.

Ed has been with Magnetic Shield going on three years. In his off-business hours he enjoys playing tennis and motorcycling – not at the same time.

Application Assistance

Magnetic interference can pose major problems in the design and operation of electrical and electronic equipment. Instruments, control systems, data processing equipment and communications networks frequently show aberrations whose sources may not be readily recognized but which are due to magnetic interference.

Our highly experienced Engineering and Technical Staffs are available for consultation and application assistance. They possess an intimate understanding of the complexities of creating the highest quality magnetic shielding. They know how to maximize the shield’s effectiveness through the most efficient design, best choice of material and the manufacturing process itself. Our expertise can save you critical time and money.

We will work with you to fulfill all your needs, from engineering prototypes to large production runs, from small component shields to wall shields and full room enclosures.
